The president of BDA, Jim
Eckles, has worked many years in Latin America and is familiar with
almost every country in Latin America. He also also speaks
Spanish and Portuguese.
BDA has associates in
Latin America and continues to assist companies on business
development activities including divestments and acquisitions. Most
of our early activities in Latin America involved the seeds
business, but we have also worked in the biosciences:
- Formation of a hybrid corn
and sorghum seed company in Mexico
- Re-structuring & sale of a
hybrid seeds company in Brazil
- Creation of a foundation seed
company in Brazil
- Valuation of a portfolio of
patents concerning added-value genetic traits for a Chilean
foundation
- Strategy, partnering and
implementation of new business activities in Argentina for a
British biological pest control company
